Frequently Asked Questions
To try and support families who wish to attend NCL 2012 we have put together some information to help that planning and booking process. 1. Where is the Venue?
The conference venue is Royal Holloway College,Egham,Surrey,TW20 0EX.
2. Is there accessible accommodation?
On campus there is a range of accessible accommodation within a short walk of the conference centre. Details of the accommodation can be viewed on the appropriate page of the NCL 2012 website. An access guide to the Venue is also available to download.
3. Is there parking?
There is ample free parking including disabled provision.
4. How far away from Heathrow airport is the conference centre
The Venue is 10 miles from Heathrow airport and 40 miles from Gatwick airport. The venue is 1 mile from Egham railway station which is a rail journey time of 37 minutes from London Waterloo.
A pre-booked accessible taxi fare from Heathrow starts at on average £25 depending on times and location.
5. Are there support carers arranged to be with our children/young adults whilst the conference is on?
Given the nature of the conference and the resources involved there is no carer service or programme provided for accompanying children and young people.
6. What will the climate be like at that time of the year?
March is a changeable time for weather in the UK but for the London area the average temperature is a high of 12o C and a low of 6o C.
7. Is there a hospital close by?
Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals are 6 miles from the conference venue. More details are available http://www.ashfordstpeters.nhs.uk
